It comes in handy when we need a twist tie for bread & chip bags, etc. In addition, it is convenient/compact & can be easily stored in a drawer. We had one which we used in the garden and kitchen for years. When we ran out, we looked in Home Depot and hardware stores to no avail. We were very pleased when we found it on amazon at a such reasonable price.

I bought it originally planning to store two 5 lb bags of flour in it ... however it only ended up being large enough for one 5 pound bag of flour. i will have to find something else to use this piece for, most likely a cookie jar as i neede one of those as well.
Watch out with this line as the sizes listed i.e 21.1 cups seem like alot but typically are less then you expect.

I saw the bigger, made in Belgium, version of the Brabantia bread box at local store, and it felt like a well-made product.
The stainless-steel material was strong and did not retain any fingerprints.
This Chinese-made, smaller version of the "the real thing", is another story. While it gets the job done in keeping the bread fresher than it would be if left on a kitchen counter, it better not be touched or your fingerprints will be proudly imprinted on its surface. It looks terrible, and I don't feel like cleaning it every day. I am returning this one and getting something else. Hopefully, you won't make the same mistake I made.

Most bread boxes open outward which means it takes more space. but lo and behold at Amazon.com I saw this bright red bread box that has a roll back feature. I ordered it and it is such a clutter cure for all the bags of bread, rolls, muffins, etc. that made my tiny counter top look messy. I rate it a 5 star product especially since the price was very reasonable.
