(More customer reviews)The balance on this knife is great. I use it for nearly every job. I had a cuisenart food processor and gave it away. I found I was faster with this knife, and there was less cleanup.
Previously I had a 10" chef's knife and its too long, the motion of picking up the heel of the blade meant I had to lift my arm too high. It just wasn't comfortable. The 6" seems too short, the 8" is just right.
You really only need about 3 knife styles, and this is one of them. (Bread knife, and paring knife are the other two.)

Althought I am not a professional myself, I find that using top equipment makes the differences. This knife speaks for itself. The edge has remainded true without a lot of fuss. The ease of use is something else. If used correctly you can slice and dice all day. The only drawback is the weight. Some might fine it a little heavy at first, but stick with it, the wait will be worth it. Excellant knife

(More customer reviews)I've had these a few days and have used them extensively. I plan on updating this review as I continue to use them for weeks and months.
I really enjoy the shape of the blade, and the steel handle is the perfect shape for dicing vegetables, etc. Some may consider the handle a little short, but it's just right for me.
They wash fine in the dishwasher though it recommends "hand washing for fine cutting instruments"... They said made in the USA, though I do not know if that is a good thing or a bad thing for a knife... we tend to think Japan, right?
The packaging is very basic white with no branding or lettering. Considering the exceptional value here, that was OK for me, and thus I consider them a great deal for basic kitchen vegetable chopping and the like. I will update on sharpness as I've used them enough.
