(More customer reviews)In the aesthetics department this item is top notch for anyone going for a stainless steel look in their kitchen. Brushed steel on front, with a black glass window - black metal on sides. Surprisingly, this is more important that I would have thought.
It microwaves well, though at 650W. The controls are convienent, and fast - with a single "one minute" button to save time on reheats. Seems to cook very evenly.
A nice function is the ability to turn the sound off completely - ridding your home of one source of beeps and chirps.
The oven works well for cooking. The toaster works surprisingly well, but it takes close to 3 minutes for a slice of bread. In the toast department, I'd recommend a stand-alone drop-in style toaster.
You can combine cooking and microwaving in steps (thaw then cook, not both at once).

Sunbeam 2349 Heritage Series Stand Mixer Review

(More customer reviews)I love my Heritage stand mixer! I used a sunbeam stand mixer for aprx. 25 years and it finally died on me. It was great except for the real heavy duty mixing (it had fewer watts than the Heritage model does). I replaced it with a KitchenAid stand mixer. I put up with it for 5 years and mostly hated it. It beat things too light... mashed potatoes, cookie dough... which changed the texture and taste of foods. Worst was how frustrating KitchenAid's are to use. The mixing bowl is deep and small in diameter. That means every time you need to mix a bit with your spatula, you have to turn off the mixer, unlock the head, lift up the head, then mix your ingredients, then put the head back down, then relock the head, then turn the mixer back on... every time you want to stir a bit. There just isn't room for reaching into the bowl it's so small in diameter. When you add in dry ingredients to your dough you can't get into the bowl enough with anything other than a stirring spoon. I just found that it wasn't worth the frustration.
Compare that to the Sunbeam Heritage which I bought 5 months ago... powerful motor (in fact, more watts than the KitchenAid most people buy and more watts than my original Sunbeam)... large diameter bowl so you can add ingredients easily and mix when you want to.
Only thing I would like on my Sunbeam Heritage that I don't have is a glass bowl. My original one had glass bowls and they were great for mashing potatoes in and then heating them up a bit in the microwave, without having to transfer them. (KitchenAid's bowls aren't glass either.)

Combining 12 variable speeds and a powerful torque-control motor, this 450-watt stand mixer provides superior mixing control and maintains speed regardless of the mixing load. The bowl speed increases and decreases automatically as the beater speed is increased and decreased. Proctor Silex 22608Y Cool-Wall Toaster Review

(More customer reviews)I've tried several toasters that were substantially more expensive and have determined that this basic, no frills Proctor Silex does a much better job of toasting bread. In fact I've done lots of research and have learned that all of the button functions on more expensive toasters are actually not necessary. For example: Cancel Button - not necessary, you simply lift up the lever to stop the toasting. Defrost Button - not necessary, all it does is lengthen the toasting time, so all you need to do is turn up the shade selector which does the exact same thing. Reheat Button - not necessary, just turn down the shade selector to the light setting and it will warm previously toasted bread without over-browning it. Bagel Button - there are 2 types of bagel functions out there, one toasts just one side of the bagel (which I don't like), and the other type toasts both sides and extends the toasting time (my preference). So for a bagel just turn up the shade selector which will extend the toasting time.

Having said all of this, I highly recommend the Proctor Silex 22608. It toasts bread evenly, and when using 2 slices, both sides of the bread are fairly uniform. It's versatile too as the slots adjust well for thin bread, thicker bread, english muffins, small bagels, and even larger bagels fit easily. Another nice feature is that it uses just 1 moving guide in each slot to keep the bread vertical. As a result the bread is not pinched together tightly between 2 metal guides so there are less grooves and white lines on the sides of the bread when it's done. It almost looks like it was done in a toaster oven. And the chrome cabinet with black side trim looks great on the kitchen counter.
I read where Consumer Reports rated this toaster #3 and I can see why. So save your money and get back to basics with the Proctor Silex 22608 !

DeLonghi DO400 1400-Watt Digital Control 4-Slice Toaster Oven Review

(More customer reviews)I used to have a much larger toaster oven, but having subsequently bought my first microwave, when the big toaster oven died, I looked for a smaller toaster oven to free up some counter space. I've had this for about a month, and I think it's quite good for what it is, but for what it is, it's overpriced. If it were cheaper I'd rate it higher. It broils beautifully. The oven heats very quickly, which is great. By my measurements, it's about 50 degrees above the requested temperature in middle ranges, as has been noted by others. But small toaster ovens are always unreliable on precise temperature. That's why all those frozen foods that come in microwave containers say don't cook them in a toaster oven (which you can do just fine, by the way, if you know how far off the temperature is). I prefer toast a little lighter than it makes toast at T-1, but it's okay. I miss features like the hook pull-outs, which not only pull the shelf out when you open the door but keep the door from crashing up and down, and the pull-out, rather than drop-down, crumb drawer. It's a perfectly adequate small toaster oven, but it should be either a little better or a little cheaper.
