Wusthof Gourmet Serrated Bread Knife Review

(More customer reviews)Although this is a stamped blade, it is a very well made knife. Instead of a 'tooth' style serrated blade, it has a scalloped edge. It works beautifully on bread of any kind, cuts right through any crust without crushing the bread. Also cuts cakes cleanly. For bagels it works best if you lay the bagel flat.
I've also used it to carve boneless roasts with good results. It doesn't carve well though for turkeys and chickens (but then it's not designed for that task.
I've had this knife for 2 years and it cuts cleanly every time and supposedly will never need sharpening. Time will tell on that one.

Paula Deen Signature Cast Iron Ginger Bread House Mold Review

(More customer reviews)This mold is extremely heavy (being cast iron) and would not be good for people that have trouble lifting or using heavy things. Of course the upside of that is that it will last for ages if taken care of. The thing about this mold that I don't like is that you have to do your baking in two stages, since it is all in one piece; bake cookies on one side, then bake cookies on the other once the first batch are done. I would much have prefered a mold that was two pieces both so that it would be less heavy, and so that all the baking could be done at once.

The Centurion has a good balance and weight in my hand. I can slice through a loaf of 100% wholewheat bread, and the slices come out just like I want them to. Excellent knife, I'm glad I purchased it.

(More customer reviews)A bread knife is a specialized tool -- you really can't use it for much other than cutting bread. It's tempting to purchase just any bread knife. But this is forged, rather than stamped, and the reduced flexing of the blade goes a long way towards making the slice the slice you wanted rather than what you happened to get. Functionally, this knife is beyond reproach. Even with crusty breads, the crumbs are minimized.
It does not use the traditional three-rivet handle -- the handle is molded. But it is a full tang, and there's no reason to expect any loss in longevity.
I gave this four, rather than five, stars primarily on the basis of the appearance of the blade -- but this is a matter of personal taste. Unlike knives used in the kitchen (where getting the job done is the job, and the appearance is not particularly important) a bread knife is likely to be used before guests. The utilitarian appearance of the blade is entirely appropriate to my tastes, however it may not appeal to those who expect a highly-polished appearance. Also (and this is visible from the photos) this bread knife does not have an offset handle, which may be awkward with large cutting boards.

I bought this one and it actually works. Don't ask me how but, since we bought this thing not a single slice of bread or tortilla has gone bad! I know it sounds too good to be true. I'm with you. I'd have trouble believing it too. I have no idea hownthis thing works but Im totally happy.

Adjustable Bread Keeper Review

(More customer reviews)The breadkeeper (as seen on TV) is plastic and originally arrived cracked. It wasn't very well packaged. I requested an received info to return it, and it was replaced within about 2 weeks, well packaged. It's an OK breadkeeper/slicer guide, but I'm not thrilled with it. I bake my own bread, no preservatives, and it doesn't keep it as fresh as my breadsack. I do use the slicer guide that came with it to slice more evenly, and not thin on top and thick at the bottom or vice versa. For the cost, it's an OK deal. And the service was good.
