(More customer reviews)This low cost gingerbread man tray is very light and impresses the images evenly. I used original flavor non stick spray before I put the mix in and was able to pull the baked results out easily with a mere knife nudge. I made gingerbread cookie/cakes and chocolate chip cookies as well. The results were just as good with both, so it holds up well with multiple mixes. I let my items cool before applying the frosted faces and buttons, which set very nicely for a safe and tasty Christmas travel! I was very pleased, and so was everyone else!

The Chef's Toolbox Silicone Gingerbread House Mold Review

(More customer reviews)As a gingerbread house fanatic, I was thrilled to find this mold. I used it over a dozen times this Christmas, and it worked beautifully. The gingerbread pops out and the molds are very easy to clean. I did find that it was not necessary to fill the mold to the top, you can use just enough dough to get a solid piece, but it can be half as thick as the mold. This would make a fantastic gift, the packaging is very nice. If you are a serial gingerbread house baker, as I, having two sets helps production! Best gingerbread mold I have every seen or used.

(More customer reviews)My daughter and I were going through what kind of cookies to make for Santa. The first batch of chocolate chip cookies didn't quite make it to Christmas Eve. These were perfect to use for gingerbread cookies. More importantly, it came with the girl, which was important to her. The large house one would make a BIG cookie. We didn't use that. The quality is about the same as others metal type of cookie cutters, I recommend wiping it clean instead of washing as I have a feeling they may rust is left wet. Not a bad price/set for something that will probably be used once a year.

(More customer reviews)The gingerbread figures are festive and the finished loaf cake/quick bread is a lovely addition to any holiday table. I always use a gingerbread recipe with this pan, but a spice cake or even pumpkin bread would work well, too. The enclosed gingerbread recipe is a winner but even a boxed gingerbread mix works well.

Coat the inside of the pan thoroughly with a cooking spray that contains flour, like Bakers Joy to ensure ease in unmolding. Turn the pan upside down on paper towels so the excess drains out while the batter is being prepared. After removing the pan from the oven let it rest for ten minutes (no longer) on a cooling rack before unmolding. With these steps I have never had a problem with cake sticking to the pan.
Using only small pieces of items like nuts, candied ginger or chocolate chips (mini chips) work best as they stay suspended in the cake rather than sinking to the bottom obscuring the gingerbread people design. Also, before putting the pan in the oven, give it a good whack on the counter to release any air bubbles in the batter so all areas of the design are as prominent as possible.
This is a pan that shouldn't be put in the dishwasher because the non-stick coating will be adversely affected. Also, no metal utensils or harsh scouring pads should be used and with those precautions taken, the pan should last a lifetime. This deeply embossed pan is always fun to unmold -- the beautiful result is so satisfying. The pan is so special I included it in a holiday package sent to several far away relatives along with a boxed gingerbread mix.

Kitchen Supply Gingerbread House Mold Review

(More customer reviews)This Gingerbread House Mold was very easy to use.
I used the recipe included in the kit to make the dough. The taste of the end product was okay. I'm sure you can find better tasting recipes if you plan to eat it; but the nice thing about this recipe was that it was portioned to make one house. So you can make just one house or multiply it according to however many houses you desire.
My 2.5 year old had fun helping make the gingerbread house. She would press the dough in each area and I would go over it with a rolling pin.
I chose to move the pieces to a separate cookie sheet instead of baking them in the mold. This allowed me to bake all the necessary pieces at one time.
This is definitely something my girls and I will be using every year.

Paula Deen Signature Cast Iron Ginger Bread House Mold Review

(More customer reviews)This mold is extremely heavy (being cast iron) and would not be good for people that have trouble lifting or using heavy things. Of course the upside of that is that it will last for ages if taken care of. The thing about this mold that I don't like is that you have to do your baking in two stages, since it is all in one piece; bake cookies on one side, then bake cookies on the other once the first batch are done. I would much have prefered a mold that was two pieces both so that it would be less heavy, and so that all the baking could be done at once.
