If Amazon ever gets this size in tinned steel, I'll be the first in line.

Oneida Harmony 9 Inch x 5 Inch Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I bought these for my fiance thinking they would be better for baking in. I was very very wrong. I should have taken the recipe she cooked as a warning and returned them immediately, but I thought "maybe we overfilled them". The bread cooked ok, although the cooking time was much longer than expected, after letting the bread cool we ran into problem #2 the steel pan top has a square opening, when you fill the silicone pan the sides bulge and when the bread cooks it won't fit back through the square without either forcing it or trimming it with a knife which is very annoying and ruins the look of the loaf. The second time we cooked with them we ran into problem #3 this time the sides collapsed in the middle of baking and we ended up with a very messy oven and no bread. :( at this point I threw the pans away. I can not believe a product such as this even made it to market, it was pitiful.

Pomaireware Clay Large Loaf Pan Review

I've been baking bread since elementary school, but never had a clay pot before. I baked one in a conventional teflon pan and the other in pomaireware. The bread in the conventional pan came out perfectly; the bread in the pomaireware was ruined: had to throw it out along with the pan.
PS: In all other Amazon purchases, I've been a really "Satisfied Customer."

Nordic Ware Gingerbread Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)The gingerbread figures are festive and the finished loaf cake/quick bread is a lovely addition to any holiday table. I always use a gingerbread recipe with this pan, but a spice cake or even pumpkin bread would work well, too. The enclosed gingerbread recipe is a winner but even a boxed gingerbread mix works well.

Coat the inside of the pan thoroughly with a cooking spray that contains flour, like Bakers Joy to ensure ease in unmolding. Turn the pan upside down on paper towels so the excess drains out while the batter is being prepared. After removing the pan from the oven let it rest for ten minutes (no longer) on a cooling rack before unmolding. With these steps I have never had a problem with cake sticking to the pan.
Using only small pieces of items like nuts, candied ginger or chocolate chips (mini chips) work best as they stay suspended in the cake rather than sinking to the bottom obscuring the gingerbread people design. Also, before putting the pan in the oven, give it a good whack on the counter to release any air bubbles in the batter so all areas of the design are as prominent as possible.
This is a pan that shouldn't be put in the dishwasher because the non-stick coating will be adversely affected. Also, no metal utensils or harsh scouring pads should be used and with those precautions taken, the pan should last a lifetime. This deeply embossed pan is always fun to unmold -- the beautiful result is so satisfying. The pan is so special I included it in a holiday package sent to several far away relatives along with a boxed gingerbread mix.

The pans are heavily constructed. The non-stick surfaces are very high quality. It is advised to lightly oil the interior surfaces before baking. The bread comes out perfect every time. What more can you ask?

(More customer reviews)I have baked bread for ten years and it is with delight that I cast away my old battered bread pans. These new pans are sturdy enough for a lifetime and the light colored metal surface does not burn the crust. I find this especially important when baking breads with a high sugar content which tend to over-brown. I will never buy dark, non-stick coated pans after using these. The bread does not stick at all when I use just a little oil on the pan and the sharply creased corners do not get all gunked up (as I feared), they just make a beautifully shaped loaf.

(More customer reviews)These pans make great whole wheat bread. The little slices are just big enough to grab out of the toaster. Great if you are trying to limit your carbs, because you can have two slices for a sandwich, so no martyr factor.
The crusts are always perfect and the kids fight over who gets the heel.
HOWEVER - I've had this in my "save for later" box waiting for them to go down to their "normal" price, and just recently the price has QUADRUPLED !!! They are NOT worth that.
I know I can't put numbers in here, but the price should be in the single digits.
Editing to say - I don't think it had anything to do with me but the item dropped to its normal price :)

KitchenAid Silicone Loaf Pan, Red Review

(More customer reviews)I just made some banana bread in the silicone rubber loaf pan. It was a really weird experience. The loaf pan is a soft rubber and doesn't feel structural enough to bake anything. There are two main advantages. 1) Nothing sticks to silicone rubber. 2) The silicone rubber loaf pan is so flexible I could probably turn it inside out, and that makes it easy to remove baked items.
My banana bread is usually baked onto the metal non-stick loaf pan when it emerges from the oven. Then I let it cool and it steams in the pan and is essentially glued to the pan. The loaf comes out, but the crust has turned to goo and is stuck in the loaf pan. With the Kitchenaid silicone loaf pan, the loaf just popped right out. It wasn't too browned. It made a beautiful loaf, like a picture in a cookbook. The sides pooched out a little, but not badly.
There was no silicone oil or chemical smell as reported in other reviews. Perhaps that was caused by an earlier batch of bad bakeware, or using the silicone rubber pan under a broiler and overheating it? I baked at 350 F in an electric oven and the loaf pan seemed chemically inert and the banana bread tasted fine.
In addition to seeming weird, there are some functional differences. Compared to metal pans, I'd add some more time or bake at a higher temperature. And no more reaching in with one oven mitt and pulling out the pan. The silicone rubber loaf pan requires two hands and two oven mitts.
Because the silicone loaf pan is so incredibly nonstick, cleanup was extremely easy. My only problem? I just bought some nice metalic Kitchenaid nonstick bakeware. It's very nice, but the silicone rubber pan works so well it's like alien technology.
Did I mention it's *really* non-stick?

Fox Run 4-Inch Loaf Pan Set, Set of Four Review

(More customer reviews)It is 4" long by 2.25" wide at the top of the cavity; 3.5" long by 1.75" wide at the bottom of the cavity; just slightly over 1.25" deep. In other words, it is most definitely petite... some might even consider it tiny. Perfect for baking personal-sized or sample-sized breads/cakes/meatloaf/etc. Too small (in my opinion) if one's intent is to bake goodies in it for gifting ONE loaf to a household consisting of 2 or more people.
It's not non-stick but if you grease the inside of the pan's cavity lightly, the baked good slides out of the pan easily. (I have not yet needed to run a knife along the edges nor to thump the bottom of the pan to coax out the bread/cake.)
Inside the cavity of the loaf pans are flat surfaces with curved edges and curved corners that make washing/cleaning these pans very easy.
Craftsmanship and quality of material are good. I've used my set almost once a week since I got it about a month ago and the pans have not warped, dented, nor rusted.

(More customer reviews)I had to trim these to fit the loaf pans I use, but it was very easy with a box cutter and straight edge. They work pretty good for baking but more material stuck to them than to parchment paper. They did peel off the loafs easily though. They don't clean as easily as the woven type do and when they are dry, if you have 2 or more they stick together and you have to peel them apart like colorforms. Also dish towel lint sticks to them.

(More customer reviews)i don't know what to say really, i cleaned and oiled these pans before putting the dough into them and the bread stuck like glue to the sides of the pans.
i also used a norpro pan which looks identical to the kaiser and the bread popped right out.
maybe they have to be used a few times first? I will try again next time i bake but considering that the pans were oiled and the bread was shaped with oil not flour i am amazed at how tenaciously the bread stuck to this pan...
