Chicago Metallic Commercial 1-1/2-Pound Loaf Pan Review

I have baked bread for ten years and it is with delight that I cast away my old battered bread pans. These new pans are sturdy enough for a lifetime and the light colored metal surface does not burn the crust. I find this especially important when baking breads with a high sugar content which tend to over-brown. I will never buy dark, non-stick coated pans after using these. The bread does not stick at all when I use just a little oil on the pan and the sharply creased corners do not get all gunked up (as I feared), they just make a beautifully shaped loaf.

I needed a larger than usual bake pan that can keep up with my active kitchen. This pan can multi-task. I baked large cakes, rice crispy treats, pasta and casseroles -- it is a work horse of a pan. In fact, I ordered another one a few days later!

Crafted from heavy-weight carbon steel, this Farberware baking pan is insulated for even browning. Insulated bakeware is made of two bonded layers of metal with a layer of air in between. The layer of air allows for even baking and browning without burning. The pan has a light gray nonstick surface designed to prevent overbrowning, as well as to easily release baked goods. The 15-1/2-by-10-1/2-inch pan has a slight depth to it, making it suitable for a number of baking jobs. Its size allows the pan to fit into most ovens, including smaller wall ovens. The pan is oven-safe to 500 degrees F. Hand washing is recommended for care. The pan comes backed by Farberware's Quality Assurance Guarantee.

Heavy, non-stick pan that has nice detail in the pineapples. We've used it for both P/A upside down cake and quick bread. We found it is better to use about 2/3 C batter rather than the 3/4 C the directions state.
