(More customer reviews)The gingerbread figures are festive and the finished loaf cake/quick bread is a lovely addition to any holiday table. I always use a gingerbread recipe with this pan, but a spice cake or even pumpkin bread would work well, too. The enclosed gingerbread recipe is a winner but even a boxed gingerbread mix works well.

Coat the inside of the pan thoroughly with a cooking spray that contains flour, like Bakers Joy to ensure ease in unmolding. Turn the pan upside down on paper towels so the excess drains out while the batter is being prepared. After removing the pan from the oven let it rest for ten minutes (no longer) on a cooling rack before unmolding. With these steps I have never had a problem with cake sticking to the pan.
Using only small pieces of items like nuts, candied ginger or chocolate chips (mini chips) work best as they stay suspended in the cake rather than sinking to the bottom obscuring the gingerbread people design. Also, before putting the pan in the oven, give it a good whack on the counter to release any air bubbles in the batter so all areas of the design are as prominent as possible.
This is a pan that shouldn't be put in the dishwasher because the non-stick coating will be adversely affected. Also, no metal utensils or harsh scouring pads should be used and with those precautions taken, the pan should last a lifetime. This deeply embossed pan is always fun to unmold -- the beautiful result is so satisfying. The pan is so special I included it in a holiday package sent to several far away relatives along with a boxed gingerbread mix.

(More customer reviews)As stated this is a quality and heavy pan. The turkey shape is fairly realistic. The BIG baking issue is the turkey head and base. Since the "body" is so thick and the head and base are not, they bake quickly and the body does not. For an experiment before turkey day, I baked 2 pumpkin bread mixes one for each side. The head and base were so hard and dry that I cut them off to feed the birds. The body was moist and edible. Amazingly both halves easily stood up on their own, so at least I know that will not be an issue.I will try again today using regular cake mix and will cover the head and base w/ foil to see if that helps. I imagine this same issue will occur with the Christmas tree for the same reason. Other than that, I really like this unique pan.

(More customer reviews)These are fantastic. I already own 3 of the snowflake pans for Christmas (which everyone LOVED with the included recipe) and one of these. I had to order another so I could get two pans going at a time during the rest of the year. (Snowflakes in Texas summer just didn't fit). I'd recommend this to anyone. Nice, solid, heavy pan. No cheap aluminum. Non stick works perfect when you use bakers friend cooking spray. Clean up is fairly easy with only one or two flecks getting caught in the design. Definitely much better than the pottery ones which you risk breaking, chipping or just plain cracking.
I expect I will have these a long time.

I wanted to get one like my mom's, and this turned out to be less expensive, but a much better quality and heavier weight. I bought 2 of these, along with 2 of the smaller cookie sheets as part of Amazon's 4 for 3 promotion, and it only came to about $30! That is an incredible deal for stainless steel pans of this quality. I would absolutely recommend these.

(More customer reviews)When I was first married over 30 years ago, I remember my mom saying that even if it seemed extravagant, it was worth it to buy quality cookware. So listening to mom, we used our wedding gift money and bought the top of the line cookware. I am still using that same dutch oven, sauce pan, and skillet, and right now I think they will probably last longer than I will!
Well, when I first saw the price of the Baker's Edge Pan, I hesitated. I knew the concept of the pan was terrific. I read all the reviews, and I really felt the design of the pan would produce better brownies, breads, casseroles, and just about anything I wanted to try.
Well, I remembered my mom's advice and decided to purchase the pan. It has exceeded my expectations as far as even cooking, perfect pieces, nice edges, and even beautiful presentation.
In addition, the quality of the pan is amazing. When I think of how many cheap 9x13 pans I have bought over the years, I knew I should have applied my mom's cookware rule to bakeware. Most baking pans warp over time or cook unevenly because they are so thin. This pan is unbelievable as far as quality construction. I feel it was a very economical purchase because with proper care it should last forever! I can't imagine needing a replacement. However, since the pan is so versatile, I would readily purchase another one - using one for a main dish casserole and another for dessert! I sincerely recommend this pan for your bakeware collection

(More customer reviews)I bought a burgundy-red version of this set in a home & garden specialty store when I was last in Washington, D.C. in just February of this year. I have gotten into cooking bread, so the loaf pan has been used almost weekly since its purchase.
The first thing I noticed was the blackening of the silicone pan edges. Can't get that off, but I supposed that is to be expected with regular baking. The more critical issue, however, is that it seems to have been the signal of bigger trouble. First the right lip fell away and now the left. And it gave up holding its upright loaf shape well before that (presumably because "ultra-flex" is code for "much too thin"). I don't mind the bowed bread (we eat it anyway), but when I came across a used silicone bread pan from another brand and compared the results, I couldn't help but find this one inferior.
I cannot recommend this item for regular use.

The recipe on the pan calls for cake flour, which makes the gingerbread light and fluffy- perfect for those who find regular gingerbread too dense. You can easily make a centerpiece for a Christmas party by dusting the cake with powdered sugar. You achieve the gingerbread look, but without all the work of a traditional (assembly required) house.

Nordic Ware Pro Form Coffee Cake Pan Review

(More customer reviews)This is the best pan I have ever used for making coffeecake. I usually buy the Duncan Hines Cinnamon Swirl cake mix and use only 1 cup of water and 4 eggs and 1/2 cup oil. This makes the cake more dense than the recipe on the back of the box and is more like coffeecake than layer cake. I put a thin powdered sugar glaze on top and it is really a hit wherever I take it. This pan is the perfect size. It hold a larger amount of batter than the standard Bundt pan so I don't have to worry about spill-overs. Great product.

Wilton Easy Flex Silicone 9 Inch by 5 Inch Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I got the Wilton set, with muffin pan, cake pan, loaf pan. The first time I used it, the smell from the oven was overwhelmingly sickening, very chemical. I thought it was because I hadn't washed it first. After washing, it was the same. As soon as it heats up in the oven, it starts to STINK. SO I did some searching on the internet - quickly found out that you really want silicone bakeware that is 100% silicone. Cheaper brands use plastic fillers which causes the odor during baking. Turns out you can tell easily by twisting a bit of the silicone - if it turns whitish, it's got plastic fillers. Pure silicone will retain it's color. The Wilton immediately turns whitish when twisted. The smell while it's hot is just nasty. I'll be returning these today - I may exchange for a higher quality and give silicone another chance. ALSO - note that silicone is NOT non-stick - it is stick resistant but the manufacturers all still recommend greasing. Wilton says it clearly on their website.

Casabella Silicone Bread Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this to use for gluten-free bread, the almond-meal recipe from the Elana's Pantry blog (which is a great recipe, and she has one book out and another coming- highly recommend). It works well for this purpose. The thing about silicone is that it bends, so as the bread bakes, it does yield a bit to the rising. You get a bit of a pot-bellied loaf. If you want a loaf with super straight sides, get a metal pan. I'm pretty happy with this. I can wait about 5 minutes after taking the loaf out of the oven and flip it out of the pan without problem. The more carbs and less oil there is in the recipe, the more issues I have with sticking. I've learned that anything with chocolate chips (mini or regular) sticks to my silicone bakeware. In such cases, I really let everything cool to room temperature (let the sugar solidify) before trying to remove the baked item.
