(More customer reviews)As stated this is a quality and heavy pan. The turkey shape is fairly realistic. The BIG baking issue is the turkey head and base. Since the "body" is so thick and the head and base are not, they bake quickly and the body does not. For an experiment before turkey day, I baked 2 pumpkin bread mixes one for each side. The head and base were so hard and dry that I cut them off to feed the birds. The body was moist and edible. Amazingly both halves easily stood up on their own, so at least I know that will not be an issue.I will try again today using regular cake mix and will cover the head and base w/ foil to see if that helps. I imagine this same issue will occur with the Christmas tree for the same reason. Other than that, I really like this unique pan.

(More customer reviews)I picked up this baker on sale at Linens n Things. I was a much bigger fan of Paula Deen before she went so mainstream, but her name didn't sell me on this product alone. I really liked it's shape and color and how heavy it was. It's definitely well made, versatile, and the price can't be beat. It's quality alone convinced me I had to have it, no matter whose name was on it.
The picture shown here is not too appealing. The inside is a rich chocolate brown, and the outside has a rippled design to it and is a rich marbled green, almost tortoise shell-like. It's one of those nice pieces you almost want to leave sitting out on your counter with some fresh fruit in it.
We first used it just to cook some sausage in the oven. I was impressed in how easy the baker is to handle in and out of the oven, and clean up was a breeze! We later used it to bake chicken breasts and again, the baker was nice and really makes your food look appealing. I almost took a picture!
Very versatile too...it's oven safe up to 500 degrees and fine to put in the fridge, microwave, or the freezer. I quickly added the casserole dish, 9 x 9 baker, and loaf pan to my collection for a nice set.
Whether you like Paula or not, you will not be disappointed in this bakeware. Buy it for yourself or pick it up as a gift for the cook in your life. It is an excellent kitchen piece!

Sassafras Deep Dish Pizza and Pie Baker Review

(More customer reviews)I've prided myself on my homemade pizza for years. It's something I take very seriously no matter if I am making my dough from scratch, or if time doesn't permit, using pre-made refridgerated dough. Now I've used all sorts of pizza pans to bake my pies from the round aluminum sheets, to the large round sheets with the holes in them, to the rectangular pans that pizzerias use for deep dish pizza. Bottom line is that none of them gave as true a pizzeria taste as when I used a baking stone. But if there's one drawback I had from using my stone is was my love of deep dish pizza. You could make some thick doughs on the stone, but ultimately you usually ended up with a very thick crust at the edges while the cheese, sauce, and other items all slid to the center of the pie.
With this round, deepdish edged stone you can make a true deep dish pizza because you can flatten out the entire pie just the way you want. You can leave it high at the edges or flatten it entirely. I like to make s chicago deep dish by layering the bottome with sausage or pepperoni before putting on a layer of cheese, then sauce, then one more layer of cheese and pepperoni on that. With this stone you can make a wonderful, layered pizza that you can never do on an ordinary pie pan or stone. Just marvelous!

(More customer reviews)This thing is truly a machine, not just a bread maker. I am making gluten free breads in this machine and it has customizable settings that allow me to cook this type of bread easily. You can make breads, meat loafs, cakes and more in this well made piece of equipment and I am impressed with the craftsmanship of this product. If you are going to make an investment in a good quality, beautiful piece of equipment for your kitchen, this is the way to go.
On a side note, the accessories that come with are not really the best quality. The oven mit is nice but the cups and spoons are not a good metal. They are not Zojirushi's product just for the record so I would suggest just buying the machine.
