(More customer reviews)I really love these pans - the size is small but that is not really a drawback because I can get 2 of them on one oven rack, so they really give me more flexibility than a larger pan. They still look brand new after about 6 months of use and clean up so easily! I avoid "nonstick" coatings as they always end up peeling off and I am not convinced they are safe, especially peeling, and sometimes you have to live with some sticking that way. But with a light greasing, cookies slide right off these pans even without that yukky teflon coating that so many cookie pans have. Definitely a winner!

I wanted to get one like my mom's, and this turned out to be less expensive, but a much better quality and heavier weight. I bought 2 of these, along with 2 of the smaller cookie sheets as part of Amazon's 4 for 3 promotion, and it only came to about $30! That is an incredible deal for stainless steel pans of this quality. I would absolutely recommend these.

Norpro Stainless Steel 15 Inch x 10 Inch Jelly Roll Baking Pan Review

(More customer reviews)No jelly rolls as of yet have graced this pan, but if I baked any I am certain they would be well pleased. The fish stick's were quite happy, so I am guessing the jelly rolls would be too.
Heating the pan to nearly 500 degrees (fish sticks like it hot, 475) caused it to warp (momentarily startling my fish sticks), but it does return to its normal shape after removing from this infernal Hades like temperature. Please note that this is a temperature you would never wish to visit upon a non-stick pan. Over 400 degrees and non-stick becomes violently toxic spewing forth lecherous vapors that kill birds, and you know what they say about canaries in coal mines. Always best to stay away from non-stick, but I'm sure that's why your considering the pristine qualities of stainless to begin with. However, the shiny surface is what attracted me (I like shiny things).
As a previous supporter of the noble qualities of this pan commented, GOO gone works admirably at removing the barnacle laden adhesive from the surface (only two small spots on this pan).
I am now secretly abducting all of our rusting and peeling non-stick in favor of Norpro stainless shiny things. Shh, my wife does not know as of yet, but she will thank me. Muwhahahahaha.

Norpro Pizza 13-inch by 15-inch Baking Stone Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this stone to try out some new bread and pizza recipes. The stone cracked in half after about 20 uses over the course of 6 weeks. It broke in half while making pizza, not while cleaning it or moving it. It is possible some sauce got on the stone, which also can create cracking, but I expected the stone to be more sturdy. When it was whole, the stone worked great, creating a crackly, even-colored crust. But it is too delicate and not an adequate thickness for the high heat involved making pizza. The overall surface area of the stone is a healthy 13 x 15 inches. But the product description suggest that the stone is 2 inches thick. That's a bad typo. It's actually 1/2 inch thick, possibly only 3/8 inch. A good bread/pizza stone should be at least 3/4 inch thick. I should have known it was a typo, since expensive stones are rarely more than 1 inch thick.

The stainless steel is very forgiving if you leave it in the oven a little too long. I have used these kinds of pans for years and they hold up well with a lot of use. This pan worked great! I had absolutely tasty hot dog buns for this past Fourth of July. I used a recipe from a Donna Washburn and Heather Butts' Gluten Free cookbook (125 Best Gluten-Free Recipes) for hamburger buns.
The dough rose beautifully in the pan. It is a nice sturdy weight. It has a non-stick surface, yet doesn't appear to be a teflon finish. It washed up easily.
This is a great, quality product!!!

Canape Bread Molds Review

(More customer reviews)I have to admit I was a little skeptical about using these, so when I finally did, I was pleasantly surprised. The breads came out of the molds very easily, and had a very nice, even light golden color all the way around and in every nook & cranny. The bread sliced up in perfect, thin little slices for canapes, with a tight crumb and virtually no crust.
My only major complaint is with the recipe on the box. First, there's no measurement for salt (but the instructions call for it); and in the end, the dough did not completely fill the molds, in the rising or baking. Consequently, when I removed the breads from the molds, 3/4 of each loaf was perfectly shaped, then tapered down to a narrow rounded end which had not risen to fill the mold. Next time, I'm going to try my own bread recipe.
The only other problem is that while the end caps come off easily enough, they are pretty difficult to put on (round caps for star, flower, & heart-shaped molds). This also enables to the molds to roll around on the baking sheet. It would have been better if they formed the end caps in the same shapes as the molds.
Otherwise, I was very pleased with these bread molds and can see myself using them often.

(More customer reviews)I bought this recently, and was very disappointed with the quality. The workmanship was poor (the metal was uneven) and the rolled edges had small burrs that can catch on your fingers. I am a big fan of stainless steel products, but I would not recommend Norpro in the future.
To make matters worse, when I returned it, the price of return shipping was deducted from the price of the item, so I got burnt twice.

What I got was 2 wadded up handfuls of loose bags with rubber bands around them, stuffed unwrapped in a mailer!!! How sanitary is that for food bags? I won't be a repeat customer.

Best Manufacturers Reusable Bread Storage Bag Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this item based on a review at cooksillustrated-dot-com (search for keyword "retrogradation" if you want to know more). Cooksillustrated thought this product was the best of the lot they tested and said it'd keep homemade bread crusts crisp and the loaf fresh for up to three days. The claim that crusts would stay crisp especially interested me.
The bag doesn't work miracles and disappointingly, doesn't keep crusts crisp. Compared to leaving my homemade or store-bought artisanal bread in a leaky plastic box, there was a small but definite improvement in quality on day one after baking/purchasing, but the crusts are definitely not crisp. By day three (just as the cooks illustrated article says) you need to freeze the bread and reheat it.
It's somewhat hard to clean b/c there are all sorts of folds in which crumbs can be trapped. You're supposed to be able to put it in the washing machine or dishwasher. Mine survived the washing machine (in a lingerie bag), but the moisture trapped between the plastic bag and the cloth bag is hard to get rid of (hair dryer time).
If your family is like mine, polishing off your homemade bread within a day or two of baking, this bag will help maintain freshness. I give it 3.5 stars for performance (on day one after baking, 4 stars for freshness, but 0 on the crisp crust promise) and 2 stars for being wildly overpriced (see my image in the customer image gallery).

Norpro 370 Bread Slicerand Guide with Crumb Catcher Review

(More customer reviews)Only two things could be adjusted for me to like this slicer better. 1 - the grooves could be deeper to keep from slicing into the wood. 2 - the guide could be adjustable. Other than that, it is a handy tool to use with baked bread. We use a bread machine that makes a pound and a half loaf. This has really removed the guess work of slicing. The bread should be cooled a little before attempting to slice. We often take bread to functions and using this we now have nice even slices. It is a lot neater using it rather than a plain board, too. All in all, a great kitchen aide.
