(More customer reviews)I have had this cutting board in my Amazon cart for a while and was pleasantly surprised to find it for $12.99 at my local T J M a x x. I love that it covers both burners on my stove and allows me to pick up the board w/ prepped food on it and set it on the burners while I cook on the burners on the other side. It makes it super easy to add ingredients and have everything ready to go. It also looks really nice on the stove top. It doesn't fit over my double bowl sink, which was disappointing. By the measurements given, it should have, but you actually lose about an inch from the sides of the board and for my sink, that inch made all the difference, because I have a cast iron sink with a big rolled edge and it doesn't quite make it... but I imagine it would probably fit over a standard or recessed kitchen sink with no problem. The bamboo is nice quality, and while and it's not butcher block thick, the entire thing is nice and even with no warping. I oiled it right away and am pleased with the way my knives cut on it, it's a nice work surface and looks good, too. I was actually ready to buy it for $24.99, but just happened upon a better deal...so if you can't find it for cheaper, I'd still say that it would be well worth the $25. I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5 because I think if they had made this just about an inch longer and another inch deeper it would fit the larger double bowl sinks as well as cover a bit more surface area on the stove top when you are using it for that purpose. But it comes very, very close to 5 stars for my money!
One caveat- I had this over my 2 burners and preheated my oven, and the board got VERY hot from the vent at the back of my rangetop as the oven was preheating. I was nearby and got it off before the wood darkened or warped, but I do think if I had left it on while the oven was working, the board would have gotten too hot. So make sure you take it off the stove top before you turn the oven on :). I would love to find another one to cover the other 2 burners when you have company drop by and your stove is a mess! If I can't find another locally I will most likely be ordering one from Amazon!
