Also, very big and bulky. I opted to go for the Wustoff drawer knife tray that fits nicely in any kitchen drawer.

(More customer reviews)I got this board a year ago, and it still looks good on my counter. So far, I only had to add mineral oil twice in the year. I used it to chop heavy stuff, and it's very sturdy yet it has an excellent "give" on my $100s knife's edge. The only setback, is during cleaning time, it's very heavy (good way for weight-lifting exercise). If you chop a lot, and love your expensive knives, this is the only board you'd ever need for everyday chopping.

Oxo Good Grips Bamboo Cutting Board Review

(More customer reviews)I have the 12x16 version of this board, and I really loved it up until a few days ago. Good knife feel, lots of control, non-slip, attractive, and cleans up easily. Unfortunately, after about four months of daily use, it has bowed slightly. It is no longer stable on the counter if I set it grooved-side-down. I've placed a sheet of shelf liner underneath to rectify the problem, but it sort of defeats the purpose of why I bought it in the first place.
I am careful about keeping my wooden utensils and cutting boards well-oiled and away from excessive moisture, so it wasn't due to neglect.
I also scarred up the silicone edge a bit, when I was slicing vegetables near one side of the board. Not a huge problem, just unsightly. Also, there's a slight edge on the silicone sides that makes it difficult to sweep food off. Just make sure to sweep off one of the long sides.
I'm going to see if Oxo will exchange it for me; I'm hoping it was just a fluke.

(More customer reviews)I really liked this cutting board, it is pretty, it is just the right size for cutting bread. But yesterday I noticed it cracked in the middle of short side. It is just not fair, I liked this board very much. It did warp a little but not in the direction of the crack. I don't know why it cracked. Really. I did apply oil to the board regularly. The crack seems to come from great inner tension since its edges separated by about third of an inch. I owned the board for about seven months.

Wusthof 2036 Bamboo Cutting Board Review

(More customer reviews)I received this Wuestof cutting board as a gift, along with some Wuesthof knives and kitchen shears. (if you would like to read my reviews for these items, click on "see all my reviews".) It's a good combo; I only had plastic cutting boards, and the wooden ones better for your knives. Plastic ones (and don't get the really hard ones)are useful for cutting meat, and putting into the dishwasher; but the wood looks nicer. Also,it is made from bamboo, a renewable resource, and not from petrochemicals.
This 8X12 cutting board is just right size for slicing, dicing and chopping up a few veggies. The Wuesthof 4.5 inch "multi-prep cook's knife" works very well for this. The Wuesthof logo is imprinted on the front side, but I don't see "Emeril" on it anywhere. The back side of the board is a cutting board,too, but it also has four rubber "feet" which add stability when used right-side-up. Groves on either side provide easy hand-holds. Flip it right-side up, pair it with a cheese knife, and you're good to go for serving cheese.
Good price/value. Treat it well--don't use the dishwasher or serrated knives, condition it with mineral oil from time to time. Highly recommend.

Lipper International 8831 Bamboo Large Over the Sink/Stove Cutting Board Review

(More customer reviews)I have had this cutting board in my Amazon cart for a while and was pleasantly surprised to find it for $12.99 at my local T J M a x x. I love that it covers both burners on my stove and allows me to pick up the board w/ prepped food on it and set it on the burners while I cook on the burners on the other side. It makes it super easy to add ingredients and have everything ready to go. It also looks really nice on the stove top. It doesn't fit over my double bowl sink, which was disappointing. By the measurements given, it should have, but you actually lose about an inch from the sides of the board and for my sink, that inch made all the difference, because I have a cast iron sink with a big rolled edge and it doesn't quite make it... but I imagine it would probably fit over a standard or recessed kitchen sink with no problem. The bamboo is nice quality, and while and it's not butcher block thick, the entire thing is nice and even with no warping. I oiled it right away and am pleased with the way my knives cut on it, it's a nice work surface and looks good, too. I was actually ready to buy it for $24.99, but just happened upon a better deal...so if you can't find it for cheaper, I'd still say that it would be well worth the $25. I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5 because I think if they had made this just about an inch longer and another inch deeper it would fit the larger double bowl sinks as well as cover a bit more surface area on the stove top when you are using it for that purpose. But it comes very, very close to 5 stars for my money!
One caveat- I had this over my 2 burners and preheated my oven, and the board got VERY hot from the vent at the back of my rangetop as the oven was preheating. I was nearby and got it off before the wood darkened or warped, but I do think if I had left it on while the oven was working, the board would have gotten too hot. So make sure you take it off the stove top before you turn the oven on :). I would love to find another one to cover the other 2 burners when you have company drop by and your stove is a mess! If I can't find another locally I will most likely be ordering one from Amazon!

(More customer reviews)The 13.8 x 11 board is smooth like glass, strong, yet lightweight. The surface looks like a spot drawing. I've never seen a bamboo board so I guess that's what bamboo is supposed to look like. The board is non-porous; water runs off in big droplets. I covered it with mineral oil as the directions stated and the surface is still non-porous and looks about the same color. I've had the board a few weeks and used it a few times and it seems to be well constructed. Totally Bamboo sent the cutting board wrapped in a pretty straw bow.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice cutting board and was ranked highest by America's test kitchen. It is a managable size but still large enough to prepare most dishes. The board seems easy on my knives but does not mark easily.
My board did seem to warp slightly however, which makes it rock during cutting. I placed a towell underneath it to stablize it, which seems to do the trick.

(More customer reviews)I like the raw edge trend and thought this cutting board would make a good presentation piece for cheeses. In person it's less of a true raw edge and more that one edge is distressed or sanded down. So it doesn't have the same rugged, earthy visual impact as pictured. Also there was a bit of a putty repair on the surface which is fairly obvious. However it is a solid board, the wood is good quality and it doesn't slip. So if you're looking for a utilitarian cutting board this is fine, but if you're searching for more of a unique statement piece it's not a great choice, the detail work just isn't there.

We loved the handles and strudiness. However, after washing them a few times, they began to crack and spilt. Then they even deformed so they didn't lay flat. We ended up having to return them. I do agree with another customer review that the smallest cutting board is too small to really do anything with also.

(More customer reviews)I bought this because it is made from real wood and from Oregon, not imported. I like the litte size. Very cute round and great drip edge! The drip edge is very deep. I don't see how I can make a mess with it.
I like this size for quick chops. Yes, you can see some marks from the knife, but that is better than on the counter. Easy to clean and drys up quick.
I look forward to buying other pieces. I checked out the manufacturers website and they have a very large offering of products. I bought a bread knife and a larger rectangular board as well. With the 4-3 offer, I got a left handed bread knife for my brother in law's xmas gift!
Did I mention, it feels like you are using a work of art? The wood is beautiful, very rich in tone and color. The natural variation is gorgeous.
