(More customer reviews)Of all the Nordicware I've purchased, this one is probably my favorite. It's so much more versatile that just a regular cake pan, mainly because you can either bake a small cake in it, or use it as a bread pan as I normally do. The only trouble you might have with this guy is getting all the stuff out of the crevices. Also, be SURE to tap it on the counter before baking to get out the air holes in the top. Otherwise, it will look like your pumpkin patch has been infested with worm holes! Or, if you have a bunch of little boys to whom you are serving this, they'll think the worm holes are cool! :) anyway, you can't go wrong with this pan - they even include a recipe. This pan was offered by Williams Sonoma last year and now this year, it's more affordable for all of us. Highly, highly recommend!

Chicago Metallic Commercial II Traditional Uncoated 1-1/2-Pound Loaf Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I just got two of these pans for Christmas, and have just completed my first bake with them - they are superb! I do a lot of baking, however I have the most pathetic collection of loaf pans known to man - and every one is supposedly non-stick. Not one of them will release a loaf after baking, no matter what you do. So, I finally decided to spring for the real thing and get Chicago Metallics.
Why the hell I waited so long I don't know, but damn, these are magnificent.
And I also wanted to balance the comments of the two reviewers who dis'ed these pans. The reason why they are having such a bad experience with their pans is that they are killing them with kindness. They won't understand what I'm about to say, but the truth is that these pans are NOT supposed to be cleaned to within an inch of their life each time they're used. In fact, the less you clean them, the better! They will soon begin to blacken and become seasoned. Treat them like you would a cast iron skillet, and they'll last a lifetime.
And why would you want to clean out the tiny crevasses of the reinforcement wire? There is NO hygiene issue at the temperatures that bread or whatever is baked. After a dozen or so bakes, those openings will seal themselves, and your pan will be so well seasoned that you won't even need to oil it when you bake.
On my first bake, I oiled the pans, and baked at 375F for 40 minutes - I let the bread cool in the pans, and they literally fell out when I tilted the pan. FIRST USE! None of my non-stick pans will do that!
I'm delighted - and I look forward to a lifetime of pleasure from them.

Villeroy & Boch Cordoba Bread and Butter Plate Review

1) Very durable - they handle all sorts of abuse in our household including getting banged into the faucet while being washed.
2) The ability to mix and match the corresponding patterns is nice. If I get tired of a particular design, I can simply change it.
3) These dishes are dishwasher and microwave safe.
4) The patterns are very versatile and are perfect for both everyday use and for formal occasions. This is great for households with limited storage - instead of two sets of dishes (one everyday, one formal), you only need one set and just switch around your table accessories.
5) As an added functionality, these bread and butter plates (in any of the patterns) make a great base for the 14 oz soup / cereal bowls when you want a more formal presentation.
Cons:
1) This isn't really a "con" per se, but a warning: These are microwave safe, but be careful! We microwaved something one time and I guess we set the time for two long, because when the food became superheated it literally cracked the plate it was on (note: it was not the Cordoba bread and butter plate). When we took the plate back to the store, we were advised that nothing is entirely "microwave safe" and you just have to be careful. Just thought you should know...
Overall, I would highly recommend any Villeroy & Boch set, based on our very positive experience with our set. ENJOY!

Little bigger than I thought it would be but I guess it needs to be to hold (6) bagels. Haven't tried to put that many in the holder yet. We'll see how well they fit??
