(More customer reviews)My kids love these little cornbread saguaros because they love cornbread, everything about Arizona, and especially these statuesque desert sentinals. I bought the non-seasoned version of this pan last year and I'm still breaking it in, so the corn bread sticks a bit. I'm sure that the new pre-seasoned version will break in faster. Make sure to preheat the mold and grease it before putting in the batter and don't fill them too full. Enjoy!

The vessel features a series of five saguaro cactus impressions, each measuring 4-1/4 inches long and 2-1/2 inches wide. The cactus shapes are clever and precise, with a pair of arms that extend out and up in the traditional saguaro manner. Meanwhile, the batter cooks beautifully thanks to the cast-iron material, which heats slowly but evenly and holds its heat far longer than stainless and aluminum rivals. Nordic Ware Cast Aluminum Mini-Scone Pan Review

I am a huge fan of scones, but never managed to cut them into neat, tidy triangles, so always resorted to patting the dough out into a circle and scoring it. This nifty pan takes care of the triangles. Just put the dough into the 16 triangles, pop the pan in the oven, and bake. The scones come out golden. Turn the pan upside down, give a couple of quick shakes and the scones slide right out. Since buying this pan, I have used it exclusively for my scones.

When first using the Mini-Scone pan, I was concerned the smaller size of the scones would mean a shorter baking time. I baked several recipes in the pan, and the cooking time was not affected.
The only drawback is the pan is not dishwasher safe. Since it is non-stick it cleans quickly with some sudsy water and a rinse.

At first glance it looks great. Nice heavy metal, smooth non-stick surface, I thought I'd hit the jackpot.
Apparently, not so.
I baked with it ONCE and it (and what I was baking) is completely ruined. I baked a simple loaf of white bread. The SLICKDAD non-stick finish is a total joke. I cared for the pan as directed beforehand, the loaf still stuck, and the SLICKDAD finish came off ON THE LOAF! I tossed the loaf and the pan in one go. I would NOT buy this again, nor would I EVER recommend it for anyone.

(More customer reviews)I purchased 4 more of these recently just to make sure I can still get them. I couldn't find them at the major warehouse store that I original bought them at. I am still using that original set. They started to get discolored, bread was starting to stick and I thought I would have to toss them out. So, as a last resort I cleaned them with SOS pads. Wow. Like new and it doesn't seem to have harmed them at all. Bread pops right out (I do spray the pans with cooking spray before baking.) The size is perfect for sandwiches which fit in standard size sandwich bags. For those of you with a Bosch - one full bread recipe makes 4 of these loaves.

(More customer reviews)Pre-seasoned cast iron is great. Followed the directions in a Cooking Light recipe and got wonderful crispy cornsticks. Popped out of the pan easily, no sticking. Preheat the pans in a 425 degree oven for 5 minutes. Remove and immediately coat with cooking spray. Spoon in batter and bake for 18 minutes.

(More customer reviews)Pros: These have made several loaves of bread, and I'm happy with the results. The food browned nicely, cooked evenly, and stack for storage.
Cons: The non-stick coating seems to be rather delicate. I wouldn't recommend using any metal utensils on these - not even a butter knife around the pan to loosen the loaf. I'm even storing them using the cardboard dividers they came with. Also, the sharp corners make for lovely bread loaves, but are not easy to clean. I have to use a toothpick to get out all of the food in the tight corners.

(More customer reviews)The Zojirushi BB-HAC10 breadmaker is terrific for couples, singles, or apartment dwellers wanting a small loaf of bread (1 LB). While at first, its price may be offsetting, it is a fantastic device and made of high quality materials. Most breadmakers are too large and end up being stored in the closet, but this machine is small, sleek, and bakes perfect loaves of bread. It is the same width as my toaster and is small enough to keep out on an apartment kitchen counter. The loaves on regular cycles take between 3:40-3:00 to bake, but it has a timer and a "keep warm" feature. It is quiet and an 8-year old could easily operate its simple push button controls.
It has an even-heating element, and a good quality, heavy, non-stick baking pan, which is a snap to clean up. It has a pasta/cookie dough feature and a jam (!) feature. The tiny paddle is actually surprisingly efficient at making dough for cookies and such.
One caveat: It bakes a small, vertical loaf of bread and a 1 LB loaf is smaller than you think it is. So the "rounded" part on top takes up about 1/4 of the entire loaf. Also, your bottom slice will have a gaping hole where the paddle bakes into it. While this is not much of a problem for a large 2 LB loaf, for this small loaf, it is a bit of a waste.
We have had a Zojirushi since the early 90's and although we found it consistently made excellent bread, it wasn't getting used very often because it was large and the 2LB loaves simply weren't getting eaten. After downsizing, we found that this breadmaker is fabulous because it makes small enough loaves that you can experiment with tons of different recipes and throw away a botched recipe without feeling bad about waste.
