There is no unusual odor from inferior metal(s) that some pans have. Wilton is just terrific in every way. Fair price for years and years of use. Two thumbs up!

(More customer reviews)I had put off buying brotforms until recently when I thought I had gotten enough skills to rationalize the purchase costs. I should have done so sooner. If you've shaped your loaf with good surface tension, it will come out in a shape that holds long enough for a good slash and loading into the oven. Finished loaves have the nice flour lines that many people associate with "artisan" breads. They do look good. The form appears to be well made and other than using reasonable to care for it, the form should last years.

Made of natural cane that's hand woven in Europe following a century old tradition. Made in the same fashion as the round coiled proofing basket. This one is ideal for forming loaves intended for baking in the Romertopf Clay Baker. It will hold the desired shape of the dough during rising and make it easier to turn the risen dough into your Romertopf or other hot baking surface for baking.Dust the basket with flour and the risen dough drops easily onto your baking surface. For proofing very wet doughs, as called for with the popular no knead bread recipes, for example, a coating of wheat bran will prevent sticking. To clean your Brotform, rinse it out with hot water with your faucet in spray mode. Shake off excess water and place upside down over still warm oven to dry quickly. Don't use soap. Shun Classic 8-Inch Offset Bread Knife Review

(More customer reviews)This is an excellent knife and complements a number of other knives I have extremely well.
It cuts with a degree of precision that I have just not found with other bread knives (and I have used most of the well-known brands) which can sometimes be too flimsy and move around when cutting bread with a hard crust such as a good sour-dough loaf or they are too thick or become blunt too easily. Also being offset has distinct advantages particularly in not hitting your knuckles when slicing.
This knife is one of the workhorses in my cooking exploits and having a reliable knife that cuts consistently across many bread/cakes types is really helpful whether it is a hard crust loaf as mentioned above or it is a cake I am slicing horizontally to fill with fresh cream and fruit this knife is always a delight to use.
Even my wife who is not particularly interested in knifes and cooking loves to use this knife and have said on more than one occasion that this is the best knife we own.
Simply it is a delight to use and has that added advantage of being beautiful to look at as well as being part of the truly excellent Shun knife range.
If I had to limit myself to three knives then this would certainly be one of the three (fortunately I don't).
Highly recommended!

(More customer reviews)This bread basket does exactly what it's supposed to do: store bread and keep it warm. Granted, warm bread will stay fairly warm on its own just by covering it up, but the warming stone does help out a good bit. The cloth is just fine, although white might be preferred by some individuals.
The basket itself appears to be more plastic than wicker, but it's a nice basket. The finish is pretty slick and has a shine to it. As for size, I consider it almost perfect for a family of four. It will store about 4-5 large rolls or 5-7 average-sized rolls. You can fill the basket more if you use another cloth napkin that is bigger or combine two. For this price point, I consider it to be a very good buy.

Tumbleweed Pottery Monkey Bread Mold Review

(More customer reviews)The "monkey Bread" mold performs just fine. The recipes on the side of the box were a bit generous in the bread ingrediedient causing the contents to overflow when the dough rises so use a little caution. Don't fill more than 1/2 to 2/3 with the unrisen dough. The breads are delicious. Follow directions for greasing the inside of the mold. I have had no problems with breads sticking to the mold and they remove easily. Because the mold is ceramic you have to place it in a cold oven, then turn on the oven to prevent thermal shock and possible cracking. Don't start your cooking timer until the temperature reaches the recommended setting or the bread will be undercooked. The mold is hollow and there is an air hole in the bottom, so if you wash it in a dishwasher you will end up with some water inside the shell that is a bit difficult to drain.

(More customer reviews)I've baked "scratch" angel food cakes in this long loaf pan several times and have yet to be successful getting the cake out of the pan without tearing it in half. The issue is that I can't get the cake unstuck from the bottom of the pan. I've tried parchment paper on only the bottom (not the sides) and the cake just sinks in as the parchment doesn't hold the cake to the pan when inverted. I've asked on the Wilton forum and the main answer was: "now you know why the tube pan comes in two parts. A friend of mine said she was given an "old" tube pan which is much heavier. She threw away this one.
It does bake nice and even and would be great for anything but angel food cake.

(More customer reviews)Pros: These have made several loaves of bread, and I'm happy with the results. The food browned nicely, cooked evenly, and stack for storage.
Cons: The non-stick coating seems to be rather delicate. I wouldn't recommend using any metal utensils on these - not even a butter knife around the pan to loosen the loaf. I'm even storing them using the cardboard dividers they came with. Also, the sharp corners make for lovely bread loaves, but are not easy to clean. I have to use a toothpick to get out all of the food in the tight corners.
